(More customer reviews)Mostly for the novelty, I have tried many, many of the packaged, pre-ground foreign coffees available on Amazon, and I must say that very few of them are worth your time or money.They have obviously been sitting around or in transit for a very long time, and you would be far better off just buying the same crummy coffee at the super market where it would probably be much fresher.The packaging is certainly cool and fun, but it just is not worth the awful taste and very high shipping prices.

(More customer reviews)I had been interested in acquiring an ibrik ever since my first cup of Turkish coffee at Dilettante in Seattle. For some reason I never got around to making the purchase. Well, this was the year I treated myself, and I'm pretty happy with my purchase. This set includes everything that you need to start developing your skill with the ibrik. (And it does take a few tries to get it right.)
The ibrik that comes with the set is a nice size for making coffee for one or two, and has a nice brass finish. The coffee samples are fun to play with and a nice introduction to the different ways in which this style of coffee is prepared (and here I mean the different spices or flavors which might be ground with the coffee beans). Finally, the cups are a nice way to serve it and match the size of the ibrik very well.
Tip: I found that I needed to scrub the inside of the ibrik to get it clean before its first use, which would have been very difficult if I hadn't had an old baby bottle brush laying around.

(More customer reviews)As soon as I removed the seal from this jar, I knew I'd be happy with it.This is the perfect product to buy if you're not able to get traditional Turkish coffee ground with cardamom, but have to settle with a generic roast.It's sweet, yet spicy (think gingerbread), and reminds me of my travels in the Middle East. The only problem was that it arrived with a broken lid.

(More customer reviews)I do not drink Turkish coffee. I find it too concentrated and bitter. But I LOVE Natasha's Cairo and Beber Turkish style coffee. Why? Because you don't have to use it to make Turkish coffee! You can put it in a regular coffeemaker and it will brew regular American coffee. Use just slightly less than you would of regular ground coffee to compensate for the finer grind.
But why would you want to do that? I'll tell you. Because Natasha's Cairo and Berber taste SO MUCH BETTER than American coffee you will be amazed. Why? Two words cardamom: (Cairo) and coriander (Berber). Both these spices suck the bitterness straight out of the coffee and leave it tasting delicious without even the slightest hint of sweetness, and de minimus calories.
Try it just once. You will be amazed. But be forewarned. You will alsofeel cheated and wonder "why oh why have I been drinking this American swill that I can only choke down with a cup of milk and a tablespoon of sugar all my life?" That's right. Black coffee doesn't have to taste bad. Try Natasha's Cairo or Berber brands and you'll find out why.
BTW, Don't order the other brands because without cardamom or coriander Turkish coffee is even more bitter than American. And don't order the Najjar, even with cardamom. Its not the same quality as Natasha's own blends, maybe because Natasha's grinds theirs in Kentucky, not in Beirut.
